The National Car Leasing Event 2025 will be held on Monday 13 October 2025 at Dauphine Amsterdam.
Stimulated by the continuing high level of activity in our country, the total fleet of the 100 largest car leasing companies grew by 1.8% to over one and a half million vehicles last year, according to an analysis by market analyst AUMACON. Incidentally, at the same time, profitability at many leasing companies did not grow accordingly.
The Top-100 represents almost the entire car leasing sector in our country. The ten very largest recorded the highest growth, although this is distorted by the fact that - after the merger of LeasePlan (in position 1 in 2023) and ALD Automotive (position 8 in 2023) - Stellantis Financial Services is now also among the ten largest. By mid-2024, the ten largest have no less than 81.3 per cent of all leased cars under their control; as of June 2019 - five years ago - this was just 71.5 per cent for the then Top 10.
AUMACON director Clem Dickmann: "The very largest market players are once again strengthening their dominant position. A development that also occurs in other subsectors of the automotive market. But unlike in car dealerships, for instance, there remains room in the leasing sector for small, regionally focused and specialised parties. The number of acquisitions in the leasing sector is limited for now, so it is mainly about organic growth." By comparison, the 10 largest car dealers in the Netherlands have a combined market share of almost 49 per cent in 2023.
A 'new' face at the top of the rankings: Ayvens, the amalgamation of LeasePlan and ALD Automotive. The new company is in the process of global integration. In May 2023, ALD Automotive completed its acquisition of LeasePlan. Shortly afterwards, a start was made to introduce the new brand - Ayvens - country by country. The Netherlands is the 17th country out of a total of 42 countries where the new name replaces both the old names. The new company manages around 335 thousand vehicles in the Netherlands after the integration, accounting for a domestic market share of almost 22 per cent.
Every year, AUMACON hands the first copy of the latest Edition to a party that stands out among all the others. This year, that honour has fallen to Toyota Louwman Financial Services, which previously operated under the name Alcredis. This company stands out this year for the biggest increase in its fleet of vehicles. Contrary to what the name suggests, the growth was partly achieved by the increased use of Suzuki private lease cars. In addition, the company has benefited from the recently increased popularity of the two core brands it works for: Toyota and Suzuki. The company climbed from 11th to ninth place this year in the highly competitive leasing market.
The award ceremony took place on Monday 14 October at Dauphine in Amsterdam during the National Car Leasing Event and came about with the cooperation of BNR Nieuwsradio.

The new AUMACON Leasing Company Top-100 contains essential information on these key players in the leasing market. Fixed items in the annual overview are data on ownership, management, financial results and suppliers. It also provides insights on remarketing, quality marks, customers and customer satisfaction and the composition (lease type/fuel/vehicle type) of the fleet. This latest issue also focuses on international connections. After all, more and more Dutch leasing companies are seeking expansion in neighbouring countries. In addition, eight leasing companies are part of an international conglomerate.
Relatively new is the addition of so-called lease bikes. Although these two-wheeled vehicles do not count towards the Top 100 ranking, more and more leasing companies are expanding their mobility offerings with them.
