Last month - according to figures from data provider RDC - 28,986 new passenger cars were registered compared to 26,589 units in July 2024; an increase of 9.0 per cent.
After 7 months, the gap with last year has been reduced to 3.9 per cent. In this, Kia leads the list sovereignly with a market share of 11.0 per cent, with numbers 2 (Volkswagen) and 3 (Toyota) following at a great distance; both now have 7.1 per cent market share.
Market analyst AUMACON is still assuming an annual number around last year's year-end figure (381k). ING Bank recently raised its annual forecast to 374k units. Bovag/RAI remain the most pessimistic for now with a forecast of 367 thousand units.

In July, 8,865 new (fully) electric cars were delivered, 9.1% more than a year earlier in the same month. July is nevertheless, for now, the worst EV month of the current year. Consequently, the market share of EVs fell slightly to 34.4%; in 2024, it was still 31.1% after 7 months.
