Last month - according to figures from data partner RDC - 28,347 new passenger cars were registered compared to 32,624 in January 2025; a 13.1% drop. This is a somewhat disappointing start after the recovery in car sales in the second half of last year. The cold winter weather in particular seems to be to blame.
For now, Volkswagen leads the list with an 8.5% market share, followed by Kia (7.7%) and Hyundai (6.9%).
