Last month – according to figures from data partner RDC – 36,259 new passenger cars were registered, compared with 32,195 in September 2025; an increase of 12.6 per cent. Over the first nine months, the total now stands at 264,701 registrations, a fall of 1.9 per cent compared with the same period in 2025. It is reasonable to assume that the impending ‘pseudo-end-of-year tax’ will lead to a further rise in new registrations in the coming months.
After nine months, Kia tops the list with a market share of 9.6 per cent, followed at some distance by Toyota (8.2 per cent) and Volkswagen (679 per cent). Toyota delivered the most new cars in September, followed by Tesla and Kia.

In September – according to figures from data partner RDC, processed by AUMACON – 19,185 new fully electric cars were delivered, 58.8% more than in the same month a year earlier, accounting for a September market share of 52.9%.
The cumulative EV market share after nine months now stands at 41.2%, compared with 34.8% in the same period of 2025.
