Last month - according to figures from data partner RDC - 22,415 new passenger cars were registered compared to 27,801 units in February 2025; a drop of 19.4%. This once again disappointing monthly result comes after January also saw a sharp decline (-14.4%). Persistent cold winter weather and early carnival seem to be mainly to blame.
Kia leads the list after 2 months with a market share of 9.0%, followed by Volkswagen (7.5%) and Toyota (7.0%).
